It is really hard to get through dark periods like this. I am glad that you feel that suicide is not the answer. What is the answer? I don't know. Some people find that antidepressants work for them. Some people find that counselling works. Music really works the best for me. I put it on really loud and scream out the songs, especially the sad ones. This usually makes me cry and crying is suposed to release endorphins which make you happy. It obviously doesnt fix the problem, but it does help me temporarily. I'm sorry for your losses and I"m sorry for your saddness. I hope you find your "happy" soon.

I was in quite a bit of pain. When I got home my boyfriend had to help me out of bed...but I had an incision that was pretty big, they couldn't do the small one, and it cut through a lot of muscle. Make sure to take it easy, no lifting even if you think you can handle it. I still get pains where my scar is if I over do it with sit ups and stuff, and my surgery was about 4 years ago. Good luck!

How do you move and transplant a 4 foot Fir Tree?

We live in Oregon on 7.8 acres... California city transplants. I walking around the property I have noted several Douglas firs or White pines that are growing in spots that will led to their demise... One is 8 inches tall and growing under the edge of our house. The other is 4 feet tall and if left in its present position, it will have to be cut off as it is under some low hanging power lines. I want to move it to the other side of the property near a pond. A third is in amongst some rocks that will be cleared for a road to a wood lot. My questions are how much of the root do I have to capture and is there anything I can put in the hole at the new site that will help to generate root growth. I intend to stake them for awhile to support that. Should we tamp the soil or leave it a bit loose. Appreciate any help or sites where we can gain this info as I hate to see them go to waste. Waking up after cardiac arrest? please answer!?

my uncle had to get surgery on his stomach for internal bleeding. after surgery he woke up and they took him off his breathing tube even though he still needed it. he went into cardiac arrest and they had to revive him. its been 4 days and he hasnt woke up. he has shown signs of movement and every once in a while he opens his eyes. he wakes up to cough and this happens pretty often. i noticed that when his daughter was talking to him that he started to open his eyes. the doctors said that they dont know if he will wake up. they said some people do and some people dont. do you know any ways that we can try to wake him up? he is on a ventilator and feeding tube. his heart rate and blood pressure are good. i just wanna wake him up. some doctors say that he should have woken up by now and some say that they put so much sleeping medicine in him that it takes 3-4 days to wear off and we are on day 4. how can we try to wake him up? we have been going everyday he has been there and staying all day. we talk to him and we dont leave him alone. could this be helping in letting him know that he is loved and that he is wanted here so he will try harder to wake up?

I've read a lot of books about the struggle and persecution of Native Americans. I recently saw a movie directed by a Native American man, I forget his name, with an almost all Native American cast. Is it ethically correct to use ually abused children as witnesses in court?

This is just me talking, but I think it depends on the child, and the case. If the case can be made against someone without the child's testimony, of course the kid shouldn't have the pressure of appearing in court. The age of the child is also a factor, and the cirstances surrounding the 'abuse'. If they were abused and they are needed in court, yes. Nobody wants those people running around on the street. If they weren't abused, they may have to appear in court anyways, to prove their parents innocent (though that wasn't their intention.) It's not fair to the parents, but there's really no other way to determine the truth, unless it can come out before the trial.

We had paperwork to fill out on registration day (which is the wk before school starts), then we had roughly another 5 sheets throughout the first week from the busdriver/teacher and nurse.

American 10th graders...well this is odd?

hi, well im a tenth grader in illinois. at my school we have something called blocks. we have 4 cles each day. one day is an A day and one is a B day. on an A day you would have four 90 minute cles and on B days you would have four different 90 minute cles. and it alternates. My typical day at school is I get on my bus, go to school, go to my locker then go to meet my friends where we sit by my other friends locker. We wait there until the bell rings. Then i go to cl. On A days i have english, geometry, gym, and then seminar(which is like a study hall). On B days i have Chemistry, Chorus, Spanish, and women studies(which is a history all about women). AFter I go through my cles, i get on the bus and go home. When I'm at home i usually do my chores, my homework, then go on the computer. I have two sisters and its just us and my mom at my house. My older sister is a track/cross country runner and i'm a swimmer. My little sister is in kindergarten. Over the weekends, I usually either stay at home going on the computer, have friends sleep over, or go to my friends house. Now that its starting to get warm, I also go to the pool and swim. That's pretty much my day to day life! hope it compares well (:

I am currently in Rockville Maryland because my dad and my stepmom (I live with them in Pennsylvania) are on vacation. How to teach 17 yo daughter financial responsibility since she works, goes to school.?

I am a single, disabled mom of 3 children ages 17 daughter, 15 son, 3 daughter. I don't work but I draw ssi and so does my son. Me and my sons money pays all the bills and we basically live paycheck to paycheck and I was wondering how to figure out a fair/decent price to charge my children mainly oldest for room/board/ect. I need the help because their father never pays child support on time or even correctly. If he was paying I could let this slide moreso but I realize I need to prepare my children for reality. I am not looking to make money off them but I am having it hard when she works in fastfood from 11 am to 4 pm, gets an hour off, goes back to work at 5 pm thru 9 pm or later and sometimes up till 4:30 am which is close. And I either have to stay up waiting to go pick her up or risk not getting to her on time. Sometimes she gets free rides home. The hours do change and during school year she wasn't working this much/like this. The hours were more sensible. With having had JRA/Arthritis from birth its gotten a heck of a lot worst and I am trying to find ways to cope/do it all/get it done. I have to have a nap daily, take meds, run errands, and pretty much do it all alone. I don't really go out or do anything for myself only if I have to go to drs do I go. If I do its with one or more of my kids in tow. My son sometimes goes with his dad on weekends/summer visits some which gives me a partial break. He has ADHD and getting him to take out trash/keep room clean is a war. He does odd jobs around area for maybe $25 a week (not alot), goes to school, hangs out with friends. Oldest daughter is too busy working, sleeping, eating, going to school, has very little free time herself, when she does she is going out having fun. I need more help with cleaning, cooking, laundry, trash, pets. I expect them to help out when asked but its gotten really rough on me. My pain is severe and chasing the youngest tires me out extremely. I don't know what else to do because both the fathers are deadbeat dads. Where I live is a crime ridden area and you can't depend on anyone or even trust them. Not to mention all the driving/running I have to do for errands, school, appointments for everyone. I want them to live in reality and not be lazy slackers which is epidemic today. I don't want to use/take advantage of them either though. I am even working on paying off debts owed to clean up my credit from a 14 yr marriage/divorce deal. I feel I am getting nowhere just surviving. Please help. God Bless.

How long does it take to fully recover from a total abdominal hysterectomy?

It only took me about 3 weeks to fell normal but about 4 weeks to go back to work because of the heavy lifting I do. My doctor actually released me to work early because I was healing so good. It took me longer to get ped the numb feeling I had in my lower abdominal area. But, to me the pain after surgery was nothing compared to before. I just kept in mind that it would all be worth it so that I never had to have the other pain again. Just hang in there I promise it will all be worth it if you had a lot trouble before surgery. It was working up until recently. I disabled the firewall, antivirus. that didn't help. I uninstalled and reinstalled Java, nothing. My popup blocker is not on. I've been having this skin problem since i was between 7-9 years old i think...me and my parents doesn't even know what it's called because even the doctors that we go to keep saying they don't really know what it is or some dermatologist told me/us that it's something that has to do with hair follicle. It looks like a little rashes that is really visible most of the time but there are times that it's not. It doesn't hurt, it doesn't turn red or anything, etc. so for short, it just looks ugly in my arms and all the way to my back. How much should my girlfreind and I plan on spending in nyc for a three day weekend. Airfare is paid?

It really depends on what all you plan to do while you're there. Shopping? Sightseeing tours? I was there in 2004 and 2005 for a weekend and not counting the airfare or lodging I spent less than $500 and that was eating cheap, one boat tour of the Hudson which I would highly recommend because if you've never been there its a great way to see where everything is. You can see the Brooklyn Bridge, statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, etc, all from the water. The best thing to do is plan a budget and check out the best NYC travel website and figure out what you want to do while you're there. I personally loved hanging out in Times Square and strolling through Central Park on a horse and carriage ride.

Countrywide low balled us on our appraisal for our refinance?

We are refinancing our home. 2 years ago we had our home appraised at 207,000. We are currently trying to refinance through Countrywide Home Loans. We payed $450 out of our pocket to have our home appraised. The lady came and was maybe in her early 20's. She was not very friendly. We were set to close when we found out that our appriasal came back at 200,000. This makes no sence to us as we have recently recarpeted our whole house with brand new burber carpet and put a new roof/shingles on. How could our appraisal go down in 2 years when our house is in excellent immaculate condition? We have a huge house of 2800 sq ft house which makes our value of only 72.00 a sqft. Before I ask this question, let me just say that this is not a joke, and any smart-aleck answers will be ignored. I think before I elaborate on my problem, I should tell you that I'm a complete video game geek. My brother and I are both absolute video game nuts. We got the new Sonic the Hedgehog video game for the PS3, and we had a blast with it, and since then, we've been looking up videos on the internet pertaining to it. Since then, we've seen videos about the Tails Doll, and I found one the other day with creepy music, and the Tails Doll had this evil look in his eye... even *thinking* about it gives me goosebumps. Long story short, now, I keep getting the feeling when I'm in bed, that the Doll is just waiting for me to go to sleep so that he can kill me. I know what you might be thinking. I'm scared of a character, and of all the video game characters to be scared of, like Sephiroth, Black Doom, or Darth Vader, I am scared of a Doll. I know it's totally pathetic, but it's true. Can my credit union pull my husband's credit report without his authorization?

I went to my credit union to obtain pre-approval for an auto loan. My husband and I have joint checking & savings accounts with them. I have been a member for 2 decades & have had 2 previous auto loans with them. I have never had any difficulty obtaining a loan or any other service from them. When I applied for the pre-approval, all that was required was that I fill out an "update" form which asked for the following: Name, SSN, Spouse Name (not listed as "Optional"), Address & Phone, Current Employer & Pay Rate, Loan Amount Requested, and "Other Bills". I was turned down for pre-approval. When I went to the credit union to pick up my credit report, I found out that they ran my husband's credit report also. He has a repo from 2005 & I believe this is why they did not give me a loan. They must have gotten his ssn & other info from our customer account file. He was not to be affiliated with my loan application in any way. Is there any appropriate action I can take with the credit union?

Is my ear infected??

It's already been 6 weeks since I've gotten my ears pierced, but my left ear is having problems. My right ear is perfect. Today my left ear started hurting, so I took out my earring and turns out it was bleeding. It was a little fatter than my other ear and a little red as well. I put a different earring in and cleaned it. A few minutes later, I was seeing if it was ok, and when I put a q-tip on the under side and there was a clear liquid. Is my ear infected? It doesn't hurt anymore nor is it red, but it's still a little fat. Is my ear infected because of the clear liquid drainage?

Ok so I've been told countless times by one of his friends that he likes me an blah blah blah and he told my other friend that rob was talking about my to him all the time. Breakthrough Bleeding?

I've been on the pill for over a year, though I've changed pills twice... this is the second time, unfortunately I missed a pill and followed the directions such that I took two pills the next morning when I realized that I missed a pill. Now a weekish later I'm having "breakthrough" bleeding, which I've never had before. Is it normal to experience mild cramps with this? Problems streaming media from pc to xbox.?

Hi, my xbox and my pc DO recognize eachother. My 360 shows my pc and my 360 is allowed media sharing in windows media player. At first my music files and video files played just fine on my 360, but after I cleared my library to start from scratch and reorganize my music my 360 now shows no music files(that is of course AFTER I put them back in WMP). I can still stream a videos that I happened to NOT delete, but none of my music plays on my 360. What can I do to fix this? I have Windows XP Home Edition 2002 Service Pack 2, and I have both my 360 and PC connected into my modem(which has multiple ports thus I don't require a router). I have downloaded WMP 11 and as I stated before it was working initially. Please help.

HELP???? Husband having mood swings?????

I don't know what the heck is wrong with my husband. We are a young married couple with 2 kids. Overall we have a very good marriage. We do bicker and fight sometimes (not a ton) but nothing major and usually its over stupid petty things. This morning its like I woke up to another man. Really tough choice... what would you choose?

So, in a few weekends there's two events going on that I can't decide on. On one hand, there's this really fun church trip for only seniors that is held on an island in California, so there's going to be beaches, relaxation, a bunch of new people that I want to become friends with, and a TON of fun things to do. Plus I would fly up a day late with a girl that I REALLY want to get to know better, if that makes sense. On the other hand, there's my club swim team banquet on the same weekend. I've been on this swim team for 9 years (most of my life) and I have a lot of close friends on the team. I'm a senior this year so it's my last banquet. Seniors are celebrated, so I would get a scrapbook with photos of all these great memories made by all the juniors and I would be talked about up on stage and whatnot. Which would you choose? I should also tell you that swimming has always caused me to miss things that I wanted to do all my life (because of swim meets mostly), and just recently swimming made me miss an earlier church trip that I also really wanted to go on, and that same girl was also going on. I also feel like missing the banquet wouldn't be THAT big of a deal (it's about the memories I've had with my swim friends after all, not some big banquet, right?) but I also feel like I would be betraying all my close friends on the team, especially because it's my last one and I'm a senior and I'll be leaving for college next year. And I'm not saying that the banquet wouldn't be fun, it would, but this church trip would be more fun, and I REALLY want to go on it. This decision is tearing me apart, what would you choose?

Little white bug? Possibly clear worm thing in freshwater fish tank?

I've had my 30 gallon tank for half a year, all my fish are healthy, I have zebra danios, platys, algae eaters, and a clawed frog and 3 basic live plants. One of the plants i bought over 4 months ago, I got it for cheap, it wasn't in the healthiest state, and lately it looks like my fish/frog have been munching on it, so I was checking it out, and I saw what looked like a very very small clear worm on the bottom of the plant. As I was looking closer, I thought I saw a small white bug, could have been the size of a flea, so I attempted to scoop the "worm" and bug out, but was unsuccessful. I'm trying to look up info to see if this is common or not. I haven't seen these things near my healthy plants, so I'm debating on getting rid of the "sick" one. Any links or advice would be awesome! =D

Daughter having bipolar meltdowns?

My daughter is 18 years old and has only been recently diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder. She is in her senior year of high school right now and really struggling with her moods as well as her temper. She has only thrown very few of these bipolar rages, but recently, she has been having them a few times a week for hour on end. They have also become more intense and violent. I am almost positive that this is result of her not taking her medication, and I am not sure if I should have her hospitalized or not. My question is, how can I help her calm herself down? She is more violent during her meltdowns now and I honeslty have no idea what to do. Does anyone out there have experience dealing with this? If so, what steps do you follow?

Can rats be traumatized by a fall?

I have had over 15 rats who jump from places so high that i would be afraid to jump from, and when they land, they are totally fine. So I have no Idea how your rat lost its nail but my rats have never been afraid of coming out of their cage after a painful experience. My rat fell in my fish tank once and she got so scared of every one she would squeak like she was going to die if anyone touched her. But then when i finally got a hold of her, I took her in and gave her a bath then she jumped on my shoulder and everything was alright. my point is, I am sure your rat will be fine, just hold her a bit more to give her comfort and she will snap out of it. You can even shut the cage so she can't go in it. That way she will be forced to get over her fear, rather than keep running away.

I had a falling out with a female friend. She believed that I had interest in her beyond that of a friend and I was just acting like a friend to get closer to her, eventhough I consistently denied it. I don't have interest in her in anything more than friend and I felt insulted that she would not trust me and believe that I was not acting with pretense. I stopped talking to her and distanced myself completely from her. However, I had one of those nights last night where I felt guilty for reacting so harshly and I do miss the friendship. So I sent her an e-mail apologizing for the way I had been reacting recently. I explained that I distanced myself because I felt hurt and insulted that she had not trusted me in the past. I apologized for expecting her trust unconditionally and not earning it.
