Please help me on what to do!?

Okay i have been dating my boyfriend for almost two years now and in three months he will be leaving for boot camp for the navy. Now i just got home from winter break from college and we have been bickering lately because i miss him and he tends to get busy a lot with his full time job to get money before he leaves. we got into a huge fight and he broke up with me. we went out to dinner and he says he still loves me and wants to be with me after boot camp(he even said he wants to be my husband) but he said to separate now will be easier on us. Unlike him i have been preparing for this and know i can handle it so this is just putting more stress on me being broken up. I know see him before he leaves and he said we will but i don't know i have ask friends and then think he is just confused i need help on to what to do. I made a commitment to him but i want to see him now. whats the difference between now and after boot camp?
