How long does it take to fully recover from a total abdominal hysterectomy?

It only took me about 3 weeks to fell normal but about 4 weeks to go back to work because of the heavy lifting I do. My doctor actually released me to work early because I was healing so good. It took me longer to get ped the numb feeling I had in my lower abdominal area. But, to me the pain after surgery was nothing compared to before. I just kept in mind that it would all be worth it so that I never had to have the other pain again. Just hang in there I promise it will all be worth it if you had a lot trouble before surgery.
