Some Christians say that believing that good works are the necessary evidence of genuine faith (cf. James 2:14-26) is the same as believing the works-righteousness salvation of Roman Catholicism. I disagree. Saying that a life of good works is a fruit of salvation is not the same view as earning our own salvation. Luther, Calvin, and the other Reformers believed the same. The idea that salvation has no impact in our practical life is a heresy.
