Other than Racism can somebody explain to the world what the Birthers are?

Very few GOP elected officials have denounced the Birthers, Deathers, Birchers, etc. The Republicans in D.C. could have rejected this nonsense, but, instead they fanned the flames. A party is able to whip up their base into a frenzy, but it's not sustainable and will do long-term damage. They deserve the marginalization they created for themselves.
